A well rounded athlete.

Well, big news in the world of rally. Although Gronholm crashed out, ford won the constructors chimps. Also, Alejandro Valverde - the green bullet - beat Alfonso Pérez Sánchez in his Peugeot rally car.

Jim did well in the Sharnford XC 5.5 mile running race.

The Baylord rode into t**d place in spectacular fashion to take the lead in the National Trophy. Nice Swan. Big Dog Dan was 7th or was it 8th. The Urban Maltloaf crashed whilst in the lead, so finish 2nd, with his mate 3rd. Jody's chain got stuck. The 'Van rolled a tub. Oldman got cold. All very unusal.

ive never been this far away from home

well, despite the absence of "the enigma", saturdays evening was "a special one". jv's congo story was a classic, the appearance of a bakewell tart under the cover of darkness was most welcome and the sight of Dan grubbing was truly awesome. The fastest starter in the world. I've never seen a prawn cocktail disappear so fast.

Speaking of 'cross. Sven, Sven, Sven Goren-Nijs s*** out at the world cup on a purpose made mountain. Lars Boom won it. Enough said.

why dont you kick yourself out you're an immigrant too?

The Raymond Poulidor of cyclo-cross, EBD managed another fine runners up position at the Inter-Area Team Chimps. Nice 2 c a wictory for the EMA team. Perhaps next year the team will take a trip to the Bollekescross, in Hamme Zogge, Belgium. The superprestige event was dominated by the Cannibal from Balen, Sven Nice.

In other exciting news, word on the street is that Super Mario/The Lion King may return to the USA pelican riding for Rock & Road, who nose, doubt it. Check them out at http://www.rockandrepublic.com/splash.html (you'll go blind with the hot chicks) or http://rockracing.com/api/Index.cfm/cms.page/i/396/About/

Also, Neil Armstrong improved on his NY Marathon time with a 2hr 46mins. Nice Swan.

BLACKOUT

robert forster -
"The stage today - you can't imagine it. Until today, I couldn't imagine how much I could torture myself. When you see the results, you say, ok, he came in with the gruppetto. Only two riders dropped out. It wasn't that bad. But in reality it was hell. I had a blackout 100 km long, I can't remember anything about it."
Förster lost contact with the peloton on the second climb. "But (Magnus) Bäckstedt was still behind me, so I had nothing to be ashamed of. Christian (Henn) kept motivating me over the radio, "Come on, you can catch up on the descent." On the descent I did come closer, but I couldn't catch them. In the valley I rode practically the whole way alone between the cars. Five km before the next climb I caught up with the group. From then on I don't know any more."
"I ride up the mountains in a trance. Just keep on pedaling. Always going up. The fans leave only a narrow strip, they're all screaming. Everything swims before my eyes. Sometimes I hear my name out of the din. I didn't want to keep pouring water over my head today because that just makes things worse, but the temptation was too great. So more water over my head. Eventually I got the shakes. I dimly remember at some point seeing Robbie McEwen riding next to me. But otherwise we all rode alone. On the third-to-last mountain I saw the gruppetto before me. Christian kept cheering me on. I was able to ride into the group."
Just before the last climb he heard that the winner was in. What kept him going? "I suffered endlessly. Without thinking. Why, actually? If I had dropped out, nobody would have said anything. Climb off the bike and it's all over. But everybody was suffering the same. You're in the gruppetto and will do anything to stay there. It's like a herd instinct."

"THIS IS MADE FOR YOU NOW. YOU'RE A MAGICIAN IN THESE SITUATIONS"

In order to celebrate a return to posting, that is defo the best quote ever used. Still got a the Jay Z one in store for the future, but i reckon that 1 tops it.

Well, in the brief (ish) absence a lot has been (c)rappening. The birthday party for Cadel Evans who nearly didnt come. The trip to the talking trees - an amazing experience - according to Mad John. There was also the trauma of my video failing to record the final of Lombardy. Speaking of which, the race of the falling trees was taken by the italian housewifes choice - il picollo principie - Cunego. The cheeky fella outspwinted the burgeoning legend that is The Snake - Ricardo Ricco (Nina Ricci/Ricardo Rice-cake/Burt Racoon). Incidentally Gianni Bugno was flying the chopper. No brrp intended.

In other news, Peta won Pawis Tours and i missed out Fabian "The Horse" Candelabra winning the world TT chimps. More horsepower than a horse. Unbewievable.
